Ilhéus do Martinhal
Classification: Very good
Eddies or swell
Excellent for photography
Use a torch
A block of rock in the Martinhal zone, where the sea is generally calmer, enabling many different, relatively simple dives. Simply follow the submersed rock walls of the islet.
Diving around the outer islets, it is possible, to the West, to pass from one islet to the next.
This is a zone that is full of colour and life, particularly white seabream, rainbow wrasse, and other species of fish, as well as prawns, crabs, gorgonians, anemones, ceriths and hosts of nudibranch.
There are several indentations in the rocks which are worth to inspect more closely - a torch is useful for this.
However, caution is needed with the eddies and currents, which can be felt at certain times of the day, depending on the sea conditions.
